【ICEM 2024】When discussing the establishment of the emergency medicine specialty in Taiwan, we must mention the distinguished grandfather Dr. Michael Bullard from Canada who played a pivotal role. Initially seeking international experience, he was invited to Taiwan and crossed the ocean to arrive here. In an era when the Chang Gung medical system did not have an emergency medicine specialty, he faced the challenge of breaking down misconceptions from various departments to establish the work system and specialty training for emergency medicine.
