Why did Dr. Tintinalli, in an era when emergency medicine was not yet a recognized specialty, passionately pursue this nonexistent field? How did she start writing the "Bible" of emergency medicine, and how did she become a storyteller who communicates with the media and the public, ensuring that everyone understands the role of emergency medicine? We often think that only in Taiwan do we need to spend time explaining emergency medicine, writing books, and communicating with the media. However, even in the United States, emergency medicine continually engages with the public. Dr. Tintinalli has developed ways to make our field understandable, gaining public support and endorsement. She even started a course in medical communication, inviting journalists to spend time in the emergency department, sparking innovative collaborations.
