13 November 1839 The British invasion of Balochistan
13 November 1839 marks the day when the British troops headed by General Willshire attacked and occupied the capital of Balochistan, known as the Khanate of Kalat at that time.

The Khan of the Baloch, Mir Mehrab Khan (the second) fought the invading British troops and embraced martyrdom. Thence, began a series of British destructive policies and strategies resulting in the division of the Baloch land under various boundary commissions, and the manipulation of their traditional way of life.

In this episode, the team of Balochistan Affairs discuss about how Balochistan suffered as a consequence of the “Great Game”, and the prevalant political situation in the region at that time. Also the internal situation of the Khanate of Kalat was analysed. The Balochistan Affairs team shed light on the socio-cultural and political impact on the Baloch as a consequence of the British occupation of their land.
