साल था 1949...लंदन स्कूल ऑफ इकोनॉमिक्स एण्ड पॉलिटिकल साइन्स में डिग्री हासिल करने के बाद के आर नारायणन भारत लौटे थे. इस दौरान वो अपने साथ एक पत्र भी लेकर आए थे. ये पत्र था उनके गुरु और प्रख्यात अर्थशास्त्री हेराल्ड लॉस्की का. लॉस्की ने ये पत्र तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री जवाहर लाल नेहरू के लिए भेजा था. दरअसल, लॉस्की, नेहरू के बहुत अच्छे मित्र थे और नेहरू भी लॉस्की का बहुत सम्मान करते थे.

The year was 1949... KR Narayanan returned to India after earning a degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. During this, he also brought a letter with him. This letter was from his mentor and eminent economist Harald Lossky. Lossky had sent this letter to the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Actually, Lossky was a very good friend of Nehru and Nehru also respected Lawsky very much.
