Soundtrack Composers - Round Robin Tournament : Wildcard Round
On the back of our 'Top 10 Movie Soundtracks' episode, Glen and I take on the epic task of figuring out who the 'Top Soundtrack Composers' are!
We have a 16-Composer-Round-Robin Tournament in the wings - but first we must have 7 composers battle it out in the Wild Card Round!!
We decided to have all the "new school" composers battle it out for the 3 remaining spots in the 16 composer brackets...basically, this round is 6 "new school" composers...and James Newton Howard!
Jonny Greenwood (There Will Be Blood, Inherent Vice, The Master, Phantom Thread) vs James Newton Howard (Signs, Waterworld, Falling Down, The Fugitive, Collateral, Unbreakable)
Alexandre Desplat (Harry Potter, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Isle of Dogs, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Shape of Water*) vs Tom Holkenborg (Deadpool, Justice League, Mad Max : Fury Road)
Brian Tyler (Fast & Furious, The Expendables, Rambo : Last Blood) vs Michael Giacchino (Mission Impossible III, Rogue One, Incredibles, Star Trek (2009), Cloverfield) vs Ludwig Goransson (The Mandalorian, Black Panther, We're the Millers, Creed).
*won an Oscar for 'Best Original Score'.
