For episode 3 of the 1xRUN Podcast, I sat down with Humberto Hernandez, AKA Andres, DJ Dez, a Drummer from Detroit or Dez Andres.

Since arriving in this city as a teenager he has become a household name. His masterful turntable skills, hypnotic productions, and undeniable conga abilities place him comfortably at the nexus of Detroit’s Hip Hop, House Music, and Jazz scenes. You may know him from his conga work on Eyrkah Badu’s  “Didn’t C-ha Know”, produced by J Dilla, or his collaborations with Moodymann, or maybe his highly sought after house releases under the name Andrés on his La Vida imprint. He has been our go-to DJ for all events that 1xRun has thrown and he’s also the creator this shows theme song.

I sat down with Dez in his home on the Westside of Detroit for this interview.
