In this episode, we sit down with Dr. Haley Arias, author of the children’s book ”When I Can’t See You,” to discuss the profound impact of grief on children and families. Dr. Arias shares her personal journey of loss—losing her brother and then later losing her father to suicide in her twenties and navigating failed IVF attempts during COVID. She opens up about how EMDR therapy and stargazing helped her heal and inspired her to write a children’s book that helps kids process grief in a safe and meaningful way. Through her book, she offers a comforting perspective on loss—teaching children that they have the ability to use their imagination to navigate grief. She also highlights how open conversations about grief and mental health can help both children and parents find healing together.
