#26: Second Base Saves Lives??? Breast Cancer Awareness with Alanna Vizonni
This is one of my favorite episodes to date. Alanna Vizonni joins us to share her experience with Stage 2 Breast Cancer at 27 years old.
Zero family history, no major symptoms, just a lump found by her boyfriend in November of 2023. By the spring of 2024, Alanna found out she had breast cancer- and in a matter of months, she went on to have a lumpectomy, go through chemo, freeze her eggs, and at the end of it all, she got engaged to her future husband, Mike. WE LOVE MIKE.
Alanna is a force to be reckoned with and her story is powerful, inspiring, and relatable. We laughed, we cried, and we got real about how life changing this experience was. Spoiler alert- happy endings do exist :)
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The main takeaway from this episode is to do your self breast exams monthly, and go to the doctor if you even have a tiny concern- because the best thing you can do is be proactive.
