In our previous episode, we discussed how the holidays can bring distractions and stress into our lives, potentially throwing us off balance in our relationship with God. That's what inspired me to start the "Happy Holy Days Challenge." We talked about getting into His Word and offered tips for building strong spiritual disciplines.
Today, we're diving deep into the theme of "Being in His Presence." Many of us go through life merely checking the boxes, only truly experiencing God's presence on Sundays at church. But, can we experience God's presence in our everyday lives? Absolutely!
The first tip we discussed is "Praise before phone." Starting your day with gratitude and prayer, before reaching for your phone to check emails and social media, can set a positive tone for your day. It's an act of intentional devotion that acknowledges God's presence in your life, helping you shift your focus from the digital world to the spiritual realm.
Another vital principle is "Garbage in, garbage out." What we consume, whether it's books, movies, TV shows, or music, impacts our mental, spiritual, and even physical well-being. Choosing media that aligns with our values and draws us closer to God can help maintain a pure and holy heart.
We also explored creating an atmosphere of holiness in your home, turning it into a sanctuary where your family can experience God's presence daily. Tips include having a dedicated space, displaying Scripture verses, and playing worship music. Encouraging your family to participate in these practices fosters a collective sense of God's presence.
Moreover, we highlighted how you can carry an atmosphere of holiness with you, whether you're on the road, shopping, at work, or engaging in everyday conversations. Infusing your daily activities with kindness, empathy, and love helps you maintain a sense of reverence and connection to God, no matter where you are.
