Teacher Jailed for Raping Student

Former teacher Kirsten Louise Thomas, convicted of raping a student, sentenced to 18 months in jail. Despite maintaining the victim wasnt present, Thomas was found guilty by a jury. The victim, intoxicated, woke up to Thomass sexual advances. Thomas left after the victim expressed distress. Judge described the offense as lower end of seriousness but noted the victims impact statement. Thomas, stood down and later sacked from teaching, now works in office administration.
