Tanya Hayles founded Black Moms Connection (BMC) to support black moms dealing with universal parental issues along with specific topics black moms faces. Growing from 400 to 4,000 in 2 months, BMC provides a safe and supportive space for women across the world. FinLit U was developed from listening to the BMC community about financial literacy. FinLit U is now an 8-week course for community members that take away shame and trauma around finances and tackles subjects like credit, savings, investing, estate planning, entrepreneurship and more. Tanya also shares what it takes to do a Ted Talk and how perseverance is key.
