Servite High Schools basketball team staged an epic comeback, defeating Cypress High School 81-78 in a non-league game. The Friars, ranked 14th in Orange County, overcame a 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter, thanks to senior forward Jake Schutts 28 points and freshman guard Saiger Smiths 18 points in the second half. Cypresss Gavin Kroll scored 20 points, but it wasnt enough to prevent Servites late surge. Coach Matt Kanne, a Servite alumnus, praised the teams competitive spirit, and the packed gym created an electric atmosphere. This thrilling victory sets a high standard for the Friars this season.
