This chapter confronts us with the reality that God’s greatest gift is not land, blessings, or comfort—but His very presence. Moses’ desperate plea, “If Your presence will not go with us, do not bring us up from here,” challenges us to examine what we value most in our walk with God.
As Josh unpacks the text, we see how Exodus 33 points us forward to Christ—the greater Mediator who intercedes for His people and reveals God’s glory in full through His incarnation, humility, and sacrifice. What Moses could only glimpse, we now see clearly in Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, God with us.
