The Arizona Diamondbacks have re-signed catcher James McCann for the 2025-26 season, following his successful stint with the team last year. McCann, who started with the Atlanta Braves on a minor league deal, was released in June and joined the Diamondbacks shortly after. He performed exceptionally well, batting .260 with a .754 OPS and a low catchers ERA. McCann enjoyed his time in Arizona and returned on a one-year, $2.75 million deal with potential bonuses. He will serve as a valuable backup to Gabriel Moreno.
