Grupos criminales se adaptan en Ciudad Juárez tras la caída de los flujos migratorios

Desde que el presidente de Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, asumió el cargo en enero de 2025, la cantidad de migrantes detenidos en la frontera entre Estados Unidos y México cayó a su nivel más bajo en 40 años. Para los grupos criminales, esto ha significado una fuerte pérdida de ingresos, pues muchos —desde Colombia hasta México— habían aprovechado los flujos migratorios para ofrecer servicios de tráfico de personas.

En 2024, las autoridades detuvieron a 1,5 millones de migrantes en la frontera sur de Estados Unidos. Dos años antes, la cifra había sido récord: 2,2 millones.

Como en su primer mandato, Trump ha antagonizado a los migrantes y prometido reducir la inmigración. Hasta ahora, en su segundo periodo, ha tenido éxito en ese sentido. Pero el crimen organizado, siempre adaptable, ya está encontrando nuevas formas de compensar sus pérdidas.
