#28 - Sarah McDugal on betrayal trauma & how writing helped save her life

Hey changemaker,

In this episode, Jas Rawlinson chats with impact-maker Sarah McDugal.

Sarah McDugal is an author, speaker, abuse recovery coach, and co-founder of Wilderness to WILD and the TraumaMAMAs mobile app – both of which provide evidence-based, trauma-effective resources for women after abuse. She creates courses, community, and coaching for women recovering from deceptive sexual trauma, coercive control, and intimate terrorism. Her passion is helping mamas heal and rebuild healthy solo-parent families while they protect their children from further harm, and navigate the family court system after escaping abuse. Sarah’s tools and resources guide women ‘out of the wilderness of abuse, into a wild, thriving, peaceful post-trauma life.’

In today's episode, we talk about:

  • What betrayal trauma is, and Sarah's personal experience of leaving an abusive relationship with a christian pastor, and rediscovering her identity
  • How writing her first book 'One Face' helped save her life
  • Sarah's message to women and victim-survivors who are experiencing betrayal trauma
