Logic1000-Psychosis, trauma and hope!

Welcome to 2025! At what can be a really tricky time of year I’m very happy to share an extremely beautiful, profound and life affirming podcast with you today.

My guest today is Samantha Poulter better known as Logic1000. It really is a deeply moving one, we cover some fairly heavy stuff, such her experiences of psychosis, trauma and recovery but she has such a pure heart and warmth about her it actually never felt heavy to hear. This one’s a special one, it's not everyday you hear someone talking candidly about their experience and so crucially their recovery from psychotic illness. Same describes how she was so anxious she couldn't even take a train to work on her own when she was catapulted into the spotlight with her first major release " Dj Logic, please forgive me"

Sam had been diagnosed with Schizophrenia at age 25 and after a lot of hard work and support, she’s now in her late 30s, is living a fulfilled and love filled life, she’s mother to her young daughter Genie and an internationally acclaimed producer and DJ who’s just come from tour with Peggy Gou, last year she remixed Dua Lipa, Shygirl and released her post partum inspired album” Mother” she makes incredible music, and she also has the most incredible life story that I can’t wait for you hear.

In this episode we cover:

  • Sam's introduction to electronic music
  • Developing self trust and overcoming paranoia
  • Having an allergy to mood altering substances
  • Her experience of psychosis and how that presented for her
  • Receiving a diagnosis for Schizophrenia
  • The effects of trauma on body and mind
  • The profound effect of Somatic therapy on her relationship with her partner and herself

And much more!
