It’s free sandbag season in San Francisco, and in many other parts of the Bay Area. The Alameda County District Attorney is formally filing charges against the man accused of fatally shooting Laney College football coach & athletic director John Beam. A highway construction project in the East Bay that's been going on for a decade is finally finished. For three months straight, San Francisco has seen a decline in the number of people dying from an overdose in the city. Some 135 people will have a place to call home as of Monday in San Jose. The man accused of shooting and killing Laney College football coach and athletic director John Beam last week is now formally charged in the case.
