In honor of May being National Mental Health Awareness Month, I'm talking about why it is important to tend to our mental health. I share some recent statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Mental Health America on rates of mental illness and suicide. I also share resources about where you or someone you know can go to get help if you're struggling mentally and emotionally.

1. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 800-273-8255. Starting July 16, 2022, you can also call 988. 

2. Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741 

3. Call 911 or your local crisis hotline.
