Behind Beautiful Things is the new name for the podcast Sad Times.

Bob Dylan once said, "Behind every beautiful thing, there's been some kind of pain".

Behind Beautiful Things is a Mental Health Podcast focused on storytelling. Each episode of Behind Beautiful Things features a guest, and we talk with them about how sadness manifests within them; what type of behavior that may surface as a result from being sad, upset, or troubled.

We believe as a society we don't always share the feelings, thoughts and actions that accompany these moments. We hope the stories told in these episodes will help the listener feel less alone and perhaps a bit more empathetic in day to day life.

This week on Behind Beautiful Things, host Kevin welcomes Aaron, the author of Four Walks in Central Park: A Poetic Guide to the Park. In this deeply personal conversation, Aaron opens up about his journey through childhood depression, the loneliness of the pandemic, and the addiction that followed. As he shares his story, we follow him through the quiet paths of Central Park—a place that became both his refuge and his teacher. Through poetry, nature, and small moments of stillness, Aaron found a way to heal and rediscover beauty in the world around him. Join us for an intimate, hopeful conversation about pain, recovery, and the power of walking toward healing—one step, one poem, one day at a time Check out Aaron’s work: Buy Aaron’s book: https://www.amazon.com/Four-Walks-Central-Park-Poetic/dp/B0DWJGKLY2 Visit Aaron’s website: https://www.aaronpoochigian.com/ Behind Beautiful Things Website: www.sadtimespodcast.com Follow Behind Beautiful Things on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/373292146649249 Follow Behind Beautiful Things on Instagram: @behindbeautifulthingspodcast Learn more about Kevin’s Professional Speaking and Acting at www.kevincrispin.com Check out Kevin’s substack: https://allconviction.substack.com Get your very own “Sad Schwag”: https://www.teepublic.com/stores/hysteria51/albums/253388-sad-times-podcast?ref_id=9022 Editorial note: Behind Beautiful Things is committed to sharing various stories from generous guests.
