Hannah Cruz stars as Svetlana in Chess on Broadway. Cruz made her Broadway debut as Inez Milholland in Suffs in 2024 after starring in a different role, Ruza Wenclawska, for the musical's Off-Broadway world premiere in 2022. Additional Off-Broadway credits include the dance musical Only Gold and Jason Robert Brown's Outer Critics Circle, Lucille Lortel, and Drama Desk Award-nominated musical The Connector.
Cruz has also performed in the national tours of Hamilton (IRNE Award for Best Actress), Legally Blonde, and Bullets Over Broadway, and she will star as Gussie in Richard Linklater's upcoming Merrily We Roll Along film opposite Paul Mescal, Ben Platt, and Beanie Feldstein.
