Bible Curious is an exploration into sacred scripture, driven by curiosity. The population of planet Earth is 33% Christian. It's 24% Muslim, and the Qur'an does acknowledge the Bible as Holy Scripture. Between these two faiths, that's over half of Earth's population. If I was an alien coming to this planet for the first time, and I wanted to play a game of "Take Me To Your Leader," it wouldn't take long before I found this book in my hands. If I want to understand this planet, planet Earth, I need to know what's in this text. To ignore it, or to dismiss it casually, is to cast aside the very underpinnings of western civilization, which is the dominant culture of this planet. I mean, aren't you at least curious about what it actually says? I know I am.

My Steps were Washed with Butter
DAY 35 (Job 29-31): When people experience deep tragedy, does it draw them closer to God, or does it widen their separation? With Job, his immediate reaction was to bless Yahweh, but as the reality of his situation sunk in, he found himself drifting away from his faith, and we can see that Job's spiritual darkness is even more tragic than his material losses. And yet, Job took care never to curse God directly, even while knowing God was responsible for his suffering. Now, we will see Job expressing hope for the future by looking backward towards past glory.
