Embark on a nautical journey with us on "Big Trips, Little Kids" as we share our unforgettable experience of the Five Ferries Route in Scotland. With our 2.5-year-old in tow, we set out on a maritime adventure filled with breathtaking landscapes, charming islands, and the soothing rhythm of Calmac ferries.
Our journey began in Ardrossan, where we boarded the first ferry to the picturesque Isle of Arran. As we sailed across the sparkling waters, our little one was mesmerized by the seagulls trailing behind us and the distant views of Arran's rugged coastline.
Arriving on Arran, we explored its stunning landscapes, from the dramatic peaks of Goat Fell to the tranquil shores of Brodick Bay.
Next, we hopped on the ferry to Tarbert, a quaint fishing village nestled along the Kintyre Peninsula. Here, we savored fresh seafood delights and soaked up the laid-back charm of this coastal gem.
From Tarbert, we sailed to Portavadie and its wonderful outdoor pool, a hidden gem on the shores of Loch Fyne.
Our journey continued to the enchanting Isle of Bute, where we explored the historic town of Rothesay and its majestic castle.
As we made our way back to Wemyss Bay, we reflected on our multi-center adventure and the joys of ferry travel with a young child. We share our tips for making the most of ferry journeys.
