Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) has introduced new biometric eGates in collaboration with CLEAR Plus, streamlining air travel for passengers. These eGates allow CLEAR Plus members to verify their identity in under five seconds, bypassing traditional TSA podiums and expediting security screening. The technology aims to reduce wait times, particularly during peak travel periods, as seen during the busy Thanksgiving holiday. Travelers like Holly Wyatt and Katie Nelson have noticed the difference, with the new system moving people through efficiently. BHM is one of many airports adopting this technology, following successful launches at nearly twenty-five other airports. CLEAR Plus prepares for increased travel in 2022, with major events like the FIFA World Cup and Americas bicentennial, aiming to provide smoother experiences for millions of travelers.
