
Hopes for approval on a second stimulus package before election day – including another round of direct payments –are all but dead.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell adjourned the Senate until Nov. 9, basically ending the prospect of a second coronavirus stimulus deal being reached before election day on Nov. 3.
Sen. Richard Shelby, R-AL, Senate Appropriations Chairman, said the chances of passing an immediate relief measure before election day are “very, very slim."
