This past week bitcoin fluctuated between $6800 and $8400, before retracing back to $7400. If the $7000 mark holds we may see a period of sideways consolidation before a major move higher or lower. Strategies for building a crypto portfolio are discussed as it relates to smart contract platforms, cryptocurrencies, privacy coins, utility tokens, and general concepts concerning diversification and risk management. Finally, in 2020 we will see the next bitcoin block reward halvening and there is much speculation on what impact this will have in price. As a sanity check, we put this change into perspective and temper expectations.
