On this day in 1992, the Boston Celtics traded guard Brian Shaw to the Miami Heat for Sherman Douglas. Shaw, known more for his coaching career and legal battle with the Celtics, had a brief and tumultuous stint in Boston. After planning to play one year overseas, Shaw was forced back due to a lawsuit, leading to injuries and tension. Despite peaking in his second year, he was traded after two seasons. Shaw later won three championships as a player with the Lakers and transitioned to coaching. Today also marks the birthday of former Celtics guard Tremont Waters, born in 1998, who played college at LSU and spent two seasons in Boston. Checkout Solipillow.com
