Bourne to Dance is the podcast from Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures that celebrates the love of dance, creativity and storytelling. It explores this innately expressive art form and questions why dance moves, inspires and excites us.


New Adventures Resident Artist, Paul Smethurst will speak to members of the New Adventures family to discover their unique story of how they first encountered dance and how it has impacted their lives.


In the first series we will be speaking to Sir Matthew Bourne, principal dancer Ashley Shaw, Culture & Arts broadcasting legend Brenda Emmanus, West End star Layton Williams, theatre maker and movement director Kane Husbands and award-winning lighting designer Paule Constable.

Jeanette Siddall

Jeanette was Chair of the Board of Trustees at New Adventures from 2015-2021, having previously worked with the Company on various reports and funding applications. Her wealth of experience in dance leadership roles includes as Director of Dance for Arts Council England and Director of Dance UK. Her consultancy work has also included Executive Consultant for Dance Consortium the network of large scale theatres that tours international contemporary dance; assessor for Clore Leadership, Arts Council England, the Scottish Government, and The Australian Ballet; Interim Director for DanceEast and co-facilitator for several Rural Retreats and the European DanceHouse Network atelier on leadership. In 2013, Jeanette was awarded the Jane Attenborough Dance UK Industry Award, and a CBE for services to dance in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
