Many are Called but Few are Chosen

Jesus' third and final response to the temple leaders' challenge of His authority comes in the form of the Parable of the Wedding Feast. In it, the king prepares marriage ceremonies for his son, but the people were unwilling to come because they had other matters of their lives to attend. After multiple rejected invitations, he sends out his servants to invite anyone and everyone willing to come. However, one man is found who was unwilling to change into wedding clothes and is thrown out.

This parable of Jesus serves as a rebuke and a warning to two groups of people: those who prioritize the good things of this world over the kingdom, and those who think they can come to God without being changed. Both groups have in common that they love their earthly lives as they are, and aren't willing to rightly give them away so that they would truly live.
