The Teen Series, Part 1: Understanding & Managing Stress

Stress can often feel overwhelming, especially for teens juggling school, friendships, social media, and expectations. But what if stress wasn’t just a challenge to overcome, but something we can learn to manage in a way that builds resilience and confidence?

In this episode, we explore what stress really is, how it affects teens, and most importantly, how to manage it in a healthy way. Stress is a normal part of life, but having the right tools can make all the difference in how we handle challenges.

This is the first of our four-part series designed specifically for teens. If you have a teenager in your life, encourage them to listen along, whether they’re getting ready for school, going for a walk, or relaxing at home.

In this episode

  • Understanding what stress is and why we experience it
  • The difference between helpful stress and overwhelming stress
  • Common stressors for teens: school, friendships, social media, and expectations
  • Recognising the signs of stress in yourself and others
  • First steps to managing stress: breathing techniques, mindfulness, and self-care

Stay tuned for the next episode, where we'll be diving into the topic of Friendships.

The Centred Home and Mind clinic is here to help families navigate stress with understanding and practical support. Now welcoming new clients in East Brisbane, Queensland.
