This audio seminar covers the issue of Street Checks, otherwise known as 'Carding'. This practice is described, and then arguments both for and against the practice are outlined. Finally, I discuss the empirical research on this practice (or rather, lack thereof). Originally recorded for SOC 4451 (Policing) at the University of Western Ontario.
