This is the real-life story of how I quit my awesome job as a clinical pharmacist of 11-years with no real plan of what I’d do next. I had a vague notion that I wanted something different, to make a greater impact, and use different parts of my brain. I started talking to friends, then friends of friends, and so on and so forth. Now, I’m discovering some brilliant career pivots proving that there is life after clinical pharmacy. And I want to share my journey with you.

Anisha Patel - pediatric palliative care pharmacist and podcaster

Anisha Patel lives and works in London, England and is our first international pharmacist. She is a hospital pharmacist working in pediatric palliative care and a university professor who pivoted into podcasting. In this episode, we debate the merits and limitations of the National Health Service compared to the US’ public/private health system (including how much pharmacists get paid in the UK). Anisha also shares her story of being an international pharmacist in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a stint and why she started her podcast, The Pharmacist Diaries (which is fantastic and 3-years running).
