Psalm 40:1–3 

I waited patiently for the Lord, 

And He inclined to me, and heard my cry. 

He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, 

Out of the miry clay, 

And set my feet upon a rock, 

And established my steps. 

He has put a new song in my mouth— 

Praise to our God; 

Many will see it and fear, 

And will trust in the Lord. 

This is my prayer for you this coming new year: that God would lift you out of every place that has tried to take away your song. 

That He would bring you out of wherever you find yourself and set you on that solid footing of trust in God through Jesus Christ. And that He would put a new song in your mouth, a song that people will see and fear and begin themselves to trust in God. 

A new year is coming our way, and a new year in your life and mind requires of us a new song. Talk to God about it.
