In this third episode of the China Tech Chat podcast, we look at the future technology of the fith-generation standard of broadband cellular networks (5G). We go into the technical background and general uses of the technology as well as possible applications that could run on the 5G technology.
We then show how far 5G technology has come in China and draw comparisons with the United States and the Western world, with values such as average download speed, penetration rate, and cost of 5G mobile tariffs.
To make the use of 5G technology in China more tangible, we have brought 5 interesting examples from actual application. These include, for example, drones for traffic monitoring or maintenance tracking, check-in technology at Beijing airport and 5G coverage in public transport and large scale expansion of self-serving and cashless stores.
