Trump And Nixon

Trump And Nixon

Trump and Nixon: Two self-labelled 'law-and-order' presidents - who both were/are crooks. And publicly denied/deny it. Throw in Ronald Reagan, our third modern-day law-and-order president, with his Iran-Contra Scandal and the cocaine smuggling along with guns and money and our supposed enemy in the Ayatollah Khomeini reign of the 1980s, the country of Iran. All three presidents acted as if they were above the law.

Trump and Nixon actually had a correspondence going on pre-social media, with handwritten letters.  Many of these are being preserved in the Richard Nixon Library. The letter exchange continued for about ten years in the 1980s into early 1994, when Nixon died in April. They shared a distrust of the media, a desire to maximize TV ratings, the idea of using people as 'props,' etc.* John Dean, a central figure in revealing the depth and deceit of the Watergate election scandal of 1972 and thereafter, was Nixon's White House counselor. He thinks these cronies were 'two authoritarian personalities who would have a natural affinity for each other."**

If you look a little deeper, Trump wanted to convince Nixon to move into his Trump Tower building (TT) on Fifth Avenue. To make it look more attractive to other wealthy possible patrons. Nixon was living in NYC at the time, about four miles away from TT. Nixon never did make the move, as his wife Pat had a stroke during the time Trump was working on him to do so. Trump did not attend Nixon's funeral.

Deep Throat was Bernstein and Woodward's secret Watergate contact during that scandal. They would meet under cover of night or the concrete in underground parking garages at 2 in the morning.
