From Battlefields to Haunted Realms: Healing, Spirits & Veteran Truths with D. Paul Fleming
On this absorbing episode of Codega’s Codex of Curiosities, I (Rye The Codega) sit down with D. Paul Fleming—a 100 % disabled U.S. Navy veteran, Native American holy man, author, paranormal investigator, and trauma-healer. We dive deep into his journey through war, childhood abuse, spiritual war, ghost huntings, and the path to healing.

Join us as we explore veteran PTSD, supernatural investigation, spirit-world encounters, Native American spirituality, and the power of storytelling in trauma recovery. This conversation is a must-listen for anyone drawn to paranormal experiences, veteran wellness, hidden histories, and the fusion of faith and the unseen.

Author Bio:
D. Paul is a Disabled Veteran who served in the US Navy and a seasoned Native American Holy Man—a sacred title bestowed upon him by Granddaughter Crow. With a lifetime devoted to spiritual service, D. Paul has investigated and cleansed an untold number of haunted properties, encountering everything from mischievous poltergeists to dark entities so powerful that his own life has been placed in danger on more than one occasion. His work has brought physical, spiritual, and emotional healing to people afflicted by dark attachments, malevolent energies, and even possession.
D. Paul is more than a medium. Rooted deeply in his Native American heritage and guided by his Christian faith, he walks a unique spiritual path as a Heyoka, a healer and a seer. With a proven track record of prophecy and supernatural insight, D. Paul’s work bridges the seen and unseen, the sacred and the mysterious.
A storyteller at heart, D. Paul considers himself a vessel—a "hollow bone"—through which Great Spirit speaks. His books are more than just stories; they are spiritual messages, guided by ancestral wisdom and whispers by what he calls his true "Ghost Writer." Each narrative unfolds before him like a vision, revealing its course on the pages of his books.
D. Paul’s mission is clear: to help others, to battle darkness, and to be a light in troubled times. If you’ve experienced phenomena like those in Mystery’s at the Windham Inn, if you believe your property is haunted or feel a dark presence within yourself, D. Paul may be able to help.

What We Cover
How military service, cultural heritage and trauma intersect in D. Paul’s life. His early years: abusive home, counting 2,442 steps to the doorway of his childhood house as metaphor for his journey. The veteran’s struggle: childhood trauma + combat trauma = complex PTSD. D. Paul’s story of silence and suppression for decades. The spiritual path: Native American mysticism, Christian faith, shamanic healing, the light vs darkness principle and how it applies to veterans and paranormal phenomena.

Paranormal investigation: ghost stories, haunted buildings, dark entities, the crossover between spiritual warfare and veteran experience. Eg., his book on the Windham Inn and how trapped spirits, dark forces and revenge narratives play out.
Healing & storytelling: Why speaking your truth matters, especially for veterans; how D. Paul found relief when he finally shared his story.
