S3E5 Navigating PCOS, Endometriosis, and SIBO with Rachel Burkholz
This episode is so inspiring and informative. I had the privilege of having my friend, colleague, and former study buddy, Rachel, on the show to discuss her health journey and everything she learned by healing herself, through her education, and from clinical practice.

Rachel Burkholz is a functional nutritionist, a certified 200 RYT, and CNS candidate with a passion in women's health. Her path to becoming a functional nutritionist was paved with professional milestones and personal revelations. With a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and a Master's in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine, her journey into the world of wellness was sparked by a personal health struggle. Frustrated with the lack of solutions, she delved into researching alternative approaches to wellness. This exploration led her to the fascinating world of functional nutrition.

She officially launched Rooted by Rachel in 2023, her virtual functional nutrition practice dedicated to helping women reclaim their health and feel good in their bodies. Through Rooted by Rachel, she provides personalized medical nutrition therapy, ongoing support, and guidance tailored to each client's unique needs.

What we chat about:
  • Rachel’s story and how she became a nutritionist
  • The criteria to be diagnosed with PCOS
  • Some of Rachel’s go to breakfast dishes
  • Tweaks that Rachel made to her routine once she was diagnosed with PCOS
  • Why it is so important to find a nutritionist or other provider that you trust
  • How to get an endometriosis diagnosis
  • Symptoms of SIBO and how to take a SIBO test
  • How Rachel cleared her SIBO
  • Different ways to support gut health
  • When I learned that I had gut issues
  • Which tests you should get if you think you have hormone imbalance
  • Key vitamins and minerals important for women’s health
  • Tips to reduce PMS symptoms
