I use my experiences to completely tear down the veil of modern corporate fakeness. HR is not your friend, your CEO couldn’t care less about you, and you’re welcome to quit without a two week’s notice. If you’ve ever been guilted for WFH (working from home) even if it’s allowed in your employee handbook, if you’ve been shamed for avoiding Happy Hours and escape rooms, you are not alone.

Here I read back a raw letter I wrote to keep my thoughts in order when departing from my penultimate corporate role as a Recruiter. This is meant to be half of a two part episode set. In this letter, I discuss the vague expectations of the company, ranging from performance based to social in nature. I also detail the final straw that let me know I truly wasn’t going to find any resolution to stay. My toxic former boss can thank himself for this.
