Weekly reflection, normally on a Wednesday morning. Our weeks are hectic, and we go through many different situations that challenge our faith each day. It can feel lonely as we don't have our home group members or the people we know from Sunday services nearby to help. The mid-week reflection is a quick help to your week; it only lasts 5 minutes, and we pray it will bless and encourage you in your faith journey.

Heroes of the New Testament: Barnabas—A Good Man, Full of Faith

Acts 11:24 🕊️💚

We continue our series with Janet’s reflection on Barnabas. Though not a main figure in many dramatic Bible stories, Barnabas (“son of encouragement”) was fundamental to the early church. Acts 11:24 says, “He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.”

Janet shares how Barnabas—originally Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus—offered encouragement, generosity, and steady support to both Jewish and Gentile believers. He gave generously by selling a field, participated in missionary journeys, and was praised even by Paul. Even in disagreements, Barnabas maintained his spirit of encouragement.

The reflection invites us to consider how our faith and actions might encourage and lead others.

Next week: Reflection on Phoebe.
