I don't know about you, but I've been receiving a lot of conflicting advice about my business lately! I am weighing up various options and it occurred to me that this is basically impossible if you aren't centered and grounded within yourself. This is my guide for how to prepare yourself to cut through the noise and choose the options that are best for you.
First, you've got to regulate your nervous system. If you are feeling stressed, anxious, frustrated or confused then you are in fight or flight mode on some level. This means your nervous system has sensed something to be alarmed about and it is sending the signal to your body that it is in danger. By regulating your nervous system you signal safety to your body so you can relax. It brings your mind back into the present moment so you can feel grounded and calm. In the episode I walk you through three of my favorite techniques for doing this.
Second, when you're weighing up your options, you've got to trust which path feels the most natural to you. The natural path will take advantage of your innate strengths. On some level it will feel easy. This is ideal. The easy path is always the right path.
Third, sometimes the simplest, most natural path still has a scary element. You've got to learn to do the scary thing anyway. Confidence follows action. As Jamie Sea says, all of us have self doubt, even your most favorite artists. Aren't you thankful they pushed through it, made their work and put it out in the world? I mean, what would the world be like without them? It's horrible to contemplate. Just know that you are someone's favorite artist too. So go do the scary thing. It's worth it.
