I still remember the days when we were young,
When we kissed during the summer storm,
Dripping from head to toe in the August dew.
I still remember the days when we were young,
Cuddling together during the winter freeze
Sipping tea and laughing about the January snow.
I still remember the days when we were young,
Lying on the lake and counting the stars,
Talking about our dreams and our personal fears.
I still remember the days when we were young,
When our lives were filled with innocence and joy,
When all we cared for was each other.
I still remember the days when we were young,
When I thought you were the only one for me,
That all my fear and pain can be taken away by you.
I still remember the days when we were young,
How we had all these unrealistic dreams and expectations,
How we believe our love can conquer all.
I still remember the days when we were no longer so young,
When the reality of life hit us hard,
When our love cannot conquer all.
I still remember the day we grew up,
What we want and what we saw is no longer right for us,
What we wish for is no longer us.
I still remember the day we broke up,
The pain in our heart, the tears in our eyes,
Can't believe that this was the end after all.
I still remember the day when we were young,
But I'm not sure if you still do.
Life may have taken us in two separate paths,
But I will always remember the days when we were young.
