Dawn grew up feeling unwanted. After being abused by her brother, she acted out sexually and got pregnant. She hid the pregnancy from her parents till she was five months pregnant with the intent of getting emancipated. However, her parents took her out of state to a late-term abortion clinic, and she was forced to abort her baby. This set her life into a downward spiral.
