S1 E2: How mainstream media lost the trust of marginalised communities, with Shirish Kulkarni

This week, Debs is joined by Shirish Kulkarni for an expansive chat, including how pursuits of impartiality can lead to misinformation, why marginalised communities do not trust the news, and what he learned from his time with mainstream outlets, such as ITN and Sky News.

Shirish is a journalist, researcher and community organiser and a news innovation research fellow at Media Cymru, which is an innovation consortium in South Wales.

He has previously worked for the likes of ITN, Sky News and The Bureau Of Investigative Journalism, before making the switch into journalism innovation.

You can find out more about Shirish's research work here!
