Nina Lock: ”Man bliver nødt til at stole på egne evner”
I fjerde afsnit af #DiversityAU-podcast fortæller lektor Nina Lock om sin forskningskarriere, der startede på kemi, og hvordan hun via flere udlandsophold nu er landet på Institut for Ingeniørvidenskab på Aarhus Universitet. I samtalen med journalist Nynne Bjerre Christensen fortæller Lock blandt andet om den store betydning, hendes udlandsophold har haft for hendes karriereforløb. Hun kommer desuden ind på vigtigheden af at kunne begå sig i et konkurrencepræget arbejdsmiljø, om udfordringen med at ville stifte familie og skabe karriere med tilhørende udlandsophold samtidig og uvisheden om, hvorvidt karrieresporet pludseligt kan ende blindt. Lock fremhæver desuden den betydning, hendes vejledere og mentorer har haft for hendes karriereforløb – og vigtigheden af at skabe sig et solidt professionelt netværk.
