Preston North End: The ultimate midtable club
Club 18 of 92 is Preston North End. The original 'Invincibles', PNE started life in the 19th century as one of England's elite clubs, doing the league and cup double without losing a game in 1888/89. However, this kind of success didn't quite make it to the 20th or 21st century. Preston have now been ensconced in the middle of the Championship for over a decade, finishing between 10th and 14th seven times in nine seasons. Joining James and Daniel to discuss this mediocrity is Jack Tucker of The Butter Pie Podcast, as we ask who is to blame for the clubs stagnation, and whether there are any bright sparks in the team. You can read Daniel Storey's write-up of his trip to Preston here. Presenters: James Gray, Daniel Storey Guests: Jack Tucker Producer: John Rogers Learn more about your ad choices.
