Japan's new Science, Technology, and Innovation Basic Plan - Opportunities for German Research

[DWIH Coffee Talk #1: Japan's new Science, Technology, and Innovation Basic Plan - Opportunities for German Research]

DWIH Tokyo’s new webtalk series provides up-to-date information on research and innovation trends in Germany and Japan. Our first Coffee Talk is dedicated to the Japanese government’s new Basic Plan for Science, Technology and Innovation, which is scheduled to take effect in April 2021.

In the DWIH Coffee Talk #1, moderator Axel Karpenstein (DWIH Tokyo) was in conversation with Fumikazu Sato (Japanese Cabinet Office) and Dr. Lothar Mennicken (German Embassy Tokyo). Together they explored the goals of the new Basic Plan, the course it sets for the Japanese research landscape, and the potential it brings for joint German-Japanese research projects.
