Do you feel pressure to live up to "expectations" as a father? We are on a mission to redefine the modern-day dad. For us, there are two stereotypes of dads; the emotionless provider that is never home, or what we call the "incompetent sitcom dad." That needs to change. Don't let stereotypes define who YOU are as a father and husband. This fun, down-to-earth podcast explores the adventures, and challenges, of being a parent. We do not claim to be an expert...We want this podcast to be an inspiration for us to become the best moms and dads we can be together.

28. "Make Me Proud..." more harm than good?

Have you ever used the phrase “Make me Proud?” In this episode, we shed some light on how and why saying “Make me Proud” could be more hurtful than it is encouraging. How should we support our kids and show them we are always proud of them, it is not something they have to "earn" from us. Has anyone ever told you to make them proud? Share with us when someone has told you this and how it affected you as you walked out on “that stage” by emailing us at DynastyofDads@gmail.com or text 845.320.3023. Don’t forget, Let’s be better dads together!

About the Dynasty of Dads Podcast: We are excited to bring to you a fun, down-to-earth podcast about the adventures, and challenges, of being a dad. There are two stereotypes of dads; the cold, emotionless, disciplinarian, and the other extreme is what I like to call the “sitcom dad,” silly, incompetent parent that can’t be trusted with important household responsibilities. Well, the goal of this podcast is to redefine the modern dad. Let’s get one thing clear, we do not claim to be an expert…we want the Dynasty of Dad’s podcast to be an inspiration to parents to be the best moms and dads we can be. We are honored to call ourselves dads, help us share that positive energy and excitement with others. Hosted by dads, @Bearded_Brian and @ZacktheGirlDad.

New DADisodes recorded weekly on Apple Podcasts, or wherever you find your podcasts. You can help support us in making amazing content by joining our Patreon.
