On behalf of the EYRC, Dr Pedro Marques interviewed Professor Anton Luger during the Annual Congress of the Portuguese Society of Endocrinology on 30 January – 2 February 2025, in Porto, Portugal.Professor Anton Luger is a renowned Professor of Endocrinology who worked most of his career at the Medical University of Vienna, where he served as Deputy Head, Acting Head and Head of the Clinical Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism. Besides his strong devotion to patient care and teaching, his main scientific interests are Pituitary, Neuroendocrinology and Diabetes.In this interview, Prof. Anton Luger discussed key aspects and challenges related with managing pituitary tumours during pregnancy, and highlighted the importance of expert multidisciplinary teams in this particular setting.Afterwards, Prof Anton Luger gave some advice to young and early career scientists and physicians with interest in neuroendocrinology on how to balance clinical and research/academic duties, and how to become a successful academic professor of Endocrinology, while keeping a good balance with private life!It was a great pleasure to interview Professor Anton Luger, and we hope that this interview helps you developing your career in the field of Pituitary and Neuroendocrinology!#Endocrinology #Neuroendocrinology #PituitaryTumors #ENEA #EYRC #YoungResearchers #MedicalResearch #pregancy
