EWJ 005: Too Much Time Writing SEO Blog Posts, Success Selling on Instagram Stories, but a Miss on Paid Influencer Marketing
Jeff describe the struggle of how writing SEO (search engine optimized) content is too much of a time sink from competition research, keyword research, creative brainstorming, outlining, actually writing, blog post formatting, creating blog post graphics and all the other tiny details not mentioned… he is bogged down doing it all.
We talk about what is his best return of investment given the time he has available. He discusses his overall content strategy and how he’s adjusting and adapting to how long it’s taking to make content.
Fisayo tells a story about her experiments in paid influencer marketing and shout outs on Instagram.
But she had a miss with an account that she had success in the past before. It’s all a lesson though and now she knows that when she engages with an account that they are more engaged and detailed with what is needed.
She’s been cold outreaching to stores to find a wholesale client. The process of “shooting your shot” she covers and the current results she is seeing.
All the work of creating the foundation of her business the year previously is paying off gradually. From initial getting the clothes to be produce accurately, having a website, and establishing an online presence has allowed the business to be better position to be approached by other individuals and business because people are starting to recognize the brand.
The lesson is to not lose motivation when you’re putting in all the work in the beginning. It can feel like you’re barely making any progress, but it adds up and will eventually pay off.
