Joi and her 3 kids live in Las Vegas, where Joi works into the evenings while her mom takes care of the kids after school. Joi is intentional about one-on-one time with each of her kids, which is important as they are grieving the sudden death of their father in 2022 and entering their teen years. Joi shares her daily routine for taking care of herself, including doing her podcast Motherhood is Ghetto. She also shares how she advocates for her kids, including her son with autism, in the school system.
